Welcome to the Wild Heart of the Coast

There’s a rhythm to this land. A slower breath, a deeper pulse. If you pause—really pause—you’ll feel it: the hush of the jungle at dawn, the deliberate arc of the pelican’s glide, the quiet miracle of humpback whales arriving to birth new life in our warm Pacific waters.
In a world moving at a fast beat pace, this issue invites you to do the opposite. To observe. To notice the light filtering through palm fronds, the scent of rain just before it falls, the way time stretches when you’re truly present. There is wisdom in the stillness—and on Costa Rica’s southern coast, stillness isn’t absence. Its abundance, awareness, and attention, and it’s not always attainable during the busy months of January through to April,. These days, the magic of the ”Green Season” paints our daily canvas.

Metamorfinca, our cover story four our 24th edition, is a living example. A regenerative, farm-to-table sanctuary, it is a bold step toward balance: where soil is honored, food is sacred, and the pace of living respects the seasons. Like the whales who return to these waters each year, like the turtles nesting on our shores, we are reminded that cycles matter—and that slowing down is often the most radical thing we can do.

There is plenty happening in the world right now, much of it loud, urgent, and disorienting. And so we come back to ground. We come back to intention. As the saying goes, “If you don’t stand for something, you’ll fall for anything.” Let this place, this community, this coast remind us of what we stand for: connection, nature, purpose, peace.

Here’s to seeing more clearly, feeling more deeply, and living more rooted in the now,
