The Majestic Humpback Whale
Eastern Tropical Pacific population, generally considered to come from the Southern Hemisphere. These whales migrate from their feeding grounds in colder waters to the warm waters of Central and South America, including Costa Rica, to breed and give birth. During the green season you’re likely to see humpback whales engaging in mating behaviors and possibly witness some calves swimming alongside their mothers.
