You’ll witness marching bands, dancers in traditional costumes, and beautifully decorated latterns honoring the country’s history and heritage. It’s a joyous atmosphere where locals and tourists alike come together to commemorate Costa Rica’s independence with passion and excitement.
  • Festival de las Luces: Organized by ADI in Bahia-Ballena has over 600 kids participating in this year’s festivities. On December 6th there will be a parade with the homemade lanterns the children made happening in Bahía. And on December 7th, “fiesta de los niños” is held during the day, and at night the “noche de baile” is for adults at the Salón Communal.
  • Día de los Diablitos: This traditional indigenous celebration takes place in Boruca, a nearby indigenous community, typically in late December and early January. It features elaborate masks, dances, and rituals that depict the struggle between indigenous people and Spanish conquistadors.

These events offer visitors a chance to immerse themselves in the vibrant culture, stunning natural beauty, and rich biodiversity of the Dominical, Uvita, and Ojochal areas, making their stay in the region even more memorable!

CULTURAL VISIT & UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE

The stone spheres found in Finca 6, as well as other sites in the Diquis Delta region of Costa Rica, are of great archaeological interest due to their mysterious origins and the precision with which they were crafted. One of the fascinating aspects of these spheres is their potential alignment with celestial phenomena, such as stars or astronomical events.
