As we celebrate our ten year anniversary, with our 20th edition, we are lead to think back to the notable changes along the coast. From pavers in Dominical and the big tree centered in the middle of the road in Ojochal, it was just before the bridge of the supermarket and soccer field, is now but a thing of the past. Maybe we might see the day when Uvita gets a stop light at the BCR intersection!
Change is the order of the era. And I do believe it’s time to bring back a general mood, a feel good sentiment, a groove, a “hey man, looks like we made it, after all”. Even though much is ahead of us, hard work and all, the feeling in the air is palpable. So many of us are going on our ten year anniversary along the coast, with so many more joining in. As I like to say, we’ve got the best seats in the house. And although we might not be at our destination yet, we have come this far and it’s worth celebrating!
Join us as we look back and head forward in our current edition. We can say that Costa Ballena has become what it is thanks to its community coming together. It’s a true melting pot from the four corner’s of the globe. You never know who you might meet, what your day may hold. And for me, that is the true Costa Rica, going with the flow of the day. Riding the wave of the moment. That is the sentiment of the phrase ‘pura vida’. It is connecting to the fabric of life and letting go, trusting in wherever it may take you, you’ll be alright. We’re all going to get to where we are going. And isn’t that what we’ve learned these past few years. That no matter how tough it may get, we’ll make it. And here we are. And that’s all that there ever is, right here, right now. Seize the day, I’m sure it will be excellent!
“You’ve got to build into your day what’s going to make you come alive.”
