casa botanica, house for sale in Costa Rica uvita, 2 bedroom

Welcome to another year of excellence!

Our 21st edition, Live. Love. Play. is a dedication to Costa Rica and all it has taught me. I came to her shores over thirteen years ago in search of healing. I knew undoubtably that it started with slowing down. When you slow down, you feel and when you feel, you heal. It really was that simple. I did not intend to stay, but Costa Rica has her ways, and one plan lead to another and yet another, and all of a sudden I had a full fledged life in the jungle. I went with the path of least resistance, and really went with it. I didn’t have anything else firm lined up, just make belief plans and I was not aware that my own destiny awaited me, ever so calmly.

In my first year I learned that sometimes slowing down can be the most productive thing you can do. Looking back I can see how my healing turned into love, love for myself, love for this country and a deep love for the joy of life. I became rooted in presence and it was then that I truly became alive once again, with a fire in my belly and ideas for a brighter future. In the beginning, it was a matter of keeping on, and getting on, but the more I went with the flow, the more mysteriously magical life became. Synchronicities began adding up, and a life of play soon lead the way. I switched to a mindset where I welcomed the winds of change, for I knew they carried the seeds of new beginnings.

I came out of that initial period of hibernation, newly renewed and ready for the world and whatever it may have in store. It took me about three years to manifest my dream job. I went from dreaming about being published, to becoming a publisher. People even asked, how did I land such a great job? To which I replied: “Why I created it!”, with a coy smile. It was and still is, from that place of love and pure presence, that each edition of magazine Costa Pacifica LIVING is borne.

Entrepreneurship is sometimes a hard walk, and so is a life aboard, but what gives me a sense of solace are the soft rain drops that fall on my face on a bright sunny day. I always look up and let the drops kiss my cheeks, as though I am being bestowed by an angel’s blessing. There is something about the freshness in the air, the feeling you get and the smell that awakens in your archaic olfactory senses and tells you all you need to know about life. In that moment your brain registers and says, live it up now because soon the rain will come. And so, you soak up those rays of sun and breath in the stunningly fresh dewey air. An air that can breathe life into a rock. But alas, you look up and there are no storm clouds in the sky, not right yet anyways, and only a smile is left on your lips and joy in your heart!

“Your brain will search for any of the answers you ask for.
So ask yourself magnificent questions.”
